Our Story
Founded by Khalil J. Cobb on August 24, 2020, BLK TLK was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to create a safe and intentional space where young Black professionals could fully show up as themselves. What started as a response to the lack of authentic connection in traditional networking spaces has since evolved into a thriving community where purpose meets connection—rooted in wellness, travel, giving back, and growth.
At BLK TLK, we believe in more than just networking—we believe in building relationships that matter. Our gatherings and initiatives are designed to uplift, inspire, and empower those who reflect the communities we come from. Whether it's through a transformative wellness retreat, a culturally immersive travel experience, or community service rooted in impact, BLK TLK is a space where each member finds belonging, purpose, and opportunity.
Our mission is to foster intentional spaces that promote both personal and professional growth while celebrating Black excellence. We are committed to creating opportunities that uplift our members and challenge the norms of what it means to connect, serve, and lead.

Khalil j. cobb
Founder/Executive Director
Khalil J. Cobb is a visionary leader, community builder, and advocate for intentional spaces that celebrate and empower young Black professionals. On August 24, 2020, Khalil founded BLK TLK with a mission to create a safe and affirming space where authenticity, purpose, and connection could thrive.
With a background in Human Resources and a passion for people, Khalil has dedicated his career to fostering environments that prioritize well-being, meaningful relationships, and impactful experiences. His leadership style is rooted in empathy, service, and strategic vision—qualities that have helped BLK TLK grow from a local initiative into a thriving community centered around wellness, travel, philanthropy, and professional growth.
Khalil believes that when Black professionals are given the tools, support, and space to be themselves unapologetically, they not only thrive—they lead, inspire, and transform the world around them. Through BLK TLK, he continues to champion that belief every day, cultivating a culture of excellence, purpose, and collective impact.
